Falkirk Science Festival celebrating all things tech set to return this summer

Falkirk Science Festival, celebrating all things STEM, is set to return this summer with a mix of both in-person and online events.

Activities to get involved in include STEM at The Helix, the family-friendly day which led to initial the creation of the full festival.

Here, attendees can make a rocket, programme a robot, learn from inspirational women in science and take part in a science ceilidh.

Meanwhile, The Great Falkirk Bake Off, is encouraging entrants bake a showstopper cake and present it on Friday, May 13.

Entires have to be inspired by the baker's favourite favourite STEM (Science Technology, Engineering, or Maths) invention in Falkirk.

This could be a feat of engineering or scientific achievement from either the past or the present but it must be factually accurate.

There are also various events planned at Muiravonside Country Park for 'Wild Science' including foraging and outdoor cooking.

Other activities in the park include pond dipping, soap carving and UV drawings.

As well as this, there are sessions for the whole family to get involved in at various locations throughout Falkirk.

For example, You Are Here, a journey to the very edge of our solar system and back in Dynamic Earth’s portable planetarium at Callendar Square Atrium.
