Falkirk’s Howgate Shopping Centre is being sold at auction later this month, with a guide price of £500,000.
The 185,000 sq ft centre comprises 56 units and is among the lots at the Acuitus auction, which will be live-streamed online on 18 May. Bidding can be made online, by phone or by proxy.
It currently makes annual gross rental income of just over £1m, from occupiers including JD Sports, River Island, New Look and Wilko.
Mhairi Archibald, Scottish consultant at Acuitus, commented: “The Howgate Centre is a good example of the type of shopping centre which is attracting entrepreneurial investors who look to take advantage of these assets’ large city-centre footprints and opportunities to drive income”.
The Howgate Centre in Falkirk and Trinity Centre in Aberdeen were sold in a portfolio of shopping centres by international investment group Rockspring Property Investment Managers in a deal worth £260m during 2015.
The Howgate is asset managed by Ellandi and managed by Workman.
