Falkirk East MSP Michelle Thomson has called for Boris Johnson to resign over his "disgraceful episode".
The Prime Minister faces a battle for his political survival after it was confirmed today that he will be fined by police for breaking lockdown rules in 2020 alongside his wife Carrie and Chancellor Rishi Sunak.
The bombshell revelation was announced by the official 10 Downing Street spokeswoman and immediately led to calls for the Prime Minister to resign.
Ms Thomson says she shares her "despair and anger" with those who lost loved ones during lockdown and were unable to attend their funerals or be with them for their passing.
In a statement, she added: "After months of denial it transpires that the Prime Minister has been misleading us all.
"Those who have lost family members or friends, who could not be with them as they passed or attend their funeral must be in despair and I share their anger and frustration.
What a disgraceful episode this Prime Minister, and his party, has caused.
"He needs to do the decent thing and resign."
