Falkirk close to John McGlynn managerial appointment as Raith Rovers boss looks for new challenge

Falkirk close to John McGlynn managerial appointment as Raith Rovers boss looks for new challenge

FALKIRK are close to appointing John McGlynn as their new manager, according to reports.

The current Raith Rovers boss has held talks with the Starks Park outfit over a new contract, but it now looks as though he will be heading to the Falkirk Stadium.

The Daily Record report that McGlynn has held talks with Bairns chiefs as they look to replace Martin Rennie, who stepped down last month.

McGlynn narrowly missed out on the play-offs with Raith Rovers this season and it is understood he is Falkirk's wanted man to get them out of League One.

Kenny Miller has led the Falkirk squad for the remainder of the season and he has discussed how he would like the job on a permanent basis.

He said: “I believe there is so much potential at this football club, it’s in a position it shouldn’t be and I feel I could help build the club back to where it belongs.

“It’s an opportunity to show the people that matter that I am capable of doing that, obviously Martin will still be here to help out and will be about to be a sounding board.

“It’s a good opportunity and it’s one that I’m thriving on, it’s an opportunity to take over.”
