Nothing gets the competitive juices flowing quite like divisional rivalries in the NFL. There’s an extra level of disdain that comes from playing the same opponents multiple times each year.
Whether the teams are good or bad, the games always seem to be competitive. On Sunday, the Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers faced off with first place in the NFC South on the line and the game didn’t disappoint.
Kirk Cousins and Baker Mayfield combined for 606 passing yards and seven touchdowns but the Falcons escaped with a 31-26 victory. Jessie Bates had an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
After the game, Atlanta’s social media account couldn’t help but troll the Bucs a little bit, poking fun at their ’70s creamsicle uniforms.

The Falcons are now 5-3 on the season and a perfect 4-0 in the division. The team has two NFC South games left — one against the New Orleans Saints in Week 10 and another against the Carolina Panthers to close out the year.
