The 2023 NFL draft is fast approaching and the Atlanta Falcons are doing their pre-draft homework. The team is already preparing to meet with TCU wideout Quentin Johnston and ECU running back Keaton Mitchell.
According to a report from the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Falcons have another pre-draft visit scheduled with Texas LB DeMarvion Overshown.
More visits:
— #Tennessee DE Byron Young visited the #Seahawks and is with the #Jaguars today, source said. He has 11 Top 30 visits.
— #Texas LB DeMarvion Overshown visited the #Cowboys yesterday and has the #Dolphins, #Texans, #Falcons, #AZCardinals and #Broncos, as well.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) April 4, 2023
Overshown is a speedy outside linebacker who lined up all over for Texas in 2022, recording 90 total tackles, four sacks and five passes defended. The Longhorns standout is considered a mid-round prospect and is ranked No. 99 on the Pro Football Focus big board.
While Overshown is an explosive athlete, his fundamentals — including his tackling ability — need some work in order for him to be a success at the next level. Still, there’s a lot to like about the Texas linebacker and he’d be an intriguing option in the third or fourth round for Atlanta.
Other top-30 visits scheduled for the Falcons include Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson, according to Pro Football Talk. Richardson has arguably the highest upside of any QB in the draft, but he’s far from polished. It’s unlikely Richardson will be there at pick No. 8, however, Atlanta is wisely doing its due diligence.
