Falcons sign LB Bud Dupree to one-year deal

The Atlanta Falcons have added another veteran to their defensive front seven, signing outside linebacker Bud Dupree to a one-year contract that is worth up to $5 million, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.

Dupree, 30, spent the first six years of his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers before joining the Tennessee Titans for the last two seasons.

The former first-round pick started 11 games in 2022, racking up 18 tackles, four sacks, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries. Dupree’s best season came in 2019 when he finished with 11.5 sacks and four forced fumbles for the Steelers. For his career, Dupree has 266 total tackles, 46.5 sacks, 82 QB hits and 62 tackles for a loss.

The Falcons have already signed linebacker Kaden Elliss and brought back Lorenzo Carter. Dupree is a veteran edge presence who fills one of the team’s few remaining needs.
