The Atlanta Falcons made a few last-minute moves ahead of this weekend’s game against the Carolina Panthers. Linebacker Nate Landman was activated after spending the last four weeks on the injured reserve list.
On Friday, the team released cornerback Kevin King to free up a roster spot for Landman. King was then re-signed to the practice squad on Saturday and elevated to the active roster for Sunday’s game.
The Falcons released veteran linebacker Rashaan Evans from the practice squad in a corresponding move on Saturday. With starting inside linebacker Troy Andersen ruled out for the second straight week, Landman should get plenty of playing time in Week 6.
The Carolina Panthers will host the Falcons at Bank of America Stadium on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET. The Panthers have lost two straight games and are 1-4 on the season.
Former No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young was replaced by Andy Dalton in the team’s Week 3 win over the Raiders. Since then, Carolina has lost two straight games, including a 26-point loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 5.
