The Atlanta Falcons have hired three new coaches over the last week, including defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich. The former New York Jets defensive coordinator and interim head coach will return to Atlanta where he coached from 2015 to 2020.
Ulbrich has experience working with Falcons head coach Raheem Morris, but the team’s defensive personnel has almost entirely changed since he left in 2021. It will be a tough challenge as Atlanta doesn’t have much salary cap space or draft capital to work with.
When will Falcons introduce Ulbrich as DC?
According to Daniel Flick of Sports Illustrated, the team will introduce Ulbrich as defensive coordinator on Monday, January 27 at 10:30 a.m. ET.

The Falcons also hired former Texans assistant Nate Ollie as defensive line coach and former Jets linebackers coach Mike Rutenberg as the team’s new defensive passing game coordinator.
Both coaches have worked under Ulbrich in the past. All three were with the Jets in 2021. Ollie left in 2022 but Rutenberg stayed with Ulbrich for four seasons (2021-2024).
Make sure to tune in on Monday at 10:30 a.m. ET for Ulbrich’s introductory press conference.
