The NFL’s 2023 trade deadline is just an hour away, but two potential Atlanta Falcons trade targets are now off the market.
The Washington Commanders sent defensive end Montez Sweat to the Chicago Bears in exchange for a second-round pick, but Atlanta was also in the mix, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.

The Falcons could also have offered a second-round pick to the Commanders, but Chicago’ssecond-rounder is more valuable since the Bears currently have a worse record than Atlanta.
With Sweat off the market, that left Commanders edge rusher Chase Young as a potential option. Unfortunately, the 49ers struck first and landed Young for a third-round pick, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Trade II: Washington is dealing DE Chase Young to the San Francisco 49ers for a third-round pick, per sources.
On the trade deadline day, Washington now has moved on from Young and Montez Sweat, once viewed as foundational players.

However, the Falcons did make a trade on Monday, acquiring defensive lineman Kentavius Street from the Eagles for a sixth-round pick. We’ll see if Atlanta makes a move before Tuesday’s 4:00 p.m. ET deadline.
