Falcons interview Steelers secondary coach Grady Brown for DC

Another name has surfaced in the Atlanta Falcons’ search for a new defensive coordinator. According to a report from NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the team will interview Pittsburgh Steelers secondary coach Grady Brown on Friday.

Brown joined Pittsburgh’s coaching staff in 2021 after spending one season at Old Dominion as the co-defensive coordinator/defensive backs coach. The Steelers finished eighth in points allowed (20.4) last season, allowing 228 passing yards per game. The defense recorded 17 interceptions and 40 sacks.

Before that, Brown was the defensive backs coach at South Carolina for four seasons (2012-2015) and the cornerbacks coach at Southern Mississippi from 2010 to 2011.

The Falcons have conducted four other interviews for their head-coaching vacancy. On Thursday, the team met with Packers pass-game coordinator Derrick Ansley and former Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo.

Earlier in the week, the Falcons interviewed Michigan defensive coordinator Wink Martindale and Jets interim coach Jeff Ulbrich. Check out our interview tracker to keep up with the latest news and updates for Atlanta’s defensive coordinator search.
