In 2021, the Atlanta Falcons used the No. 4 pick in the draft to select tight end Kyle Pitts out of the University of Florida. After a 1,000-yard rookie season, Pitts was deemed the next big thing at the tight end position.
However, Pitts struggled once the team traded quarterback Matt Ryan in 2022, and he has yet to replicate the success of his rookie season. An MCL injury cut his sophomore campaign short, finishing with just 28 catches for 358 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Pitts bounced back with 53 catches for 667 receiving yards and three touchdowns in 2023, but poor play at the quarterback position undoubtedly held the offense back. Now that Pitts is fully healthy and the team has added two starting-caliber quarterbacks, many expect him to return to form in 2024.
