Following a fourth-quarter touchdown pass by Falcons quarterback Desmond Ridder, the team trailed by eight points to the Commanders in Week 6.
Atlanta opted for a two-point conversion instead of a field goal, hoping to cut the deficit to six points. Ridder missed Drake London on the two-point attempt, but the Falcons received a second chance following a Commanders penalty.
Running back Tyler Allgeier was stuffed short of the end zone on attempt No. 2 and fans were left baffled by the call. Smith was later seen looking frustrated with Ridder on the sideline after the QB threw a red-zone interception.
Falcons fans on Twitter went off on Smith for his questionable fourth-quarter decisions.
Arthur Smith is on the sideline cooking up the snarkiest remark known to man for when a reporter asks him why he went for two there i guarantee it

Arthur Smith is a major problem for Atlanta. No help from Desmond Ridder either, who throws a boneheaded interception in the red zone.

Arthur Smith. How dumb do you look now going for 2?! If you score here, you GOTTA go for 2. You put yourself in this position, and for what…??? pic.twitter.com/Rcs3IiFAmA

Arthur Smith should be the district manager of regional FedEx distribution centers not forcing Desmond Ridder down our throats every Sunday and shaking children’s faith in Christmas

That decision to go for 2 there …. that's gonna get asked about postgame.
Whether it's an early question or a later question will depend on what happens the rest of the way.

Correction: Arthur Smith has to freakin GO ✌🏽 https://t.co/kdTgbAvwTv

Lots of blame to go around. Arthur Smith has to call TO to prevent that delay of game in that spot. After that, their chances of scoring dropped dramatically. We all know what happened next…

A little frustration on the #Falcons sideline after that interception as Matt Ryan points out.
