Falcons considered trading up into late first round, per report

The Atlanta Falcons walked away from Day 1 of the 2023 NFL draft with arguably the best non-quarterback in the class. Texas running back Bijan Robinson was the team’s selection at pick No. 8, but Atlanta reportedly tried to trade back up into the first round to make another selection.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Falcons were one of four teams that looked into trading up on Thursday night.

So which prospects could the Falcons have been targeting when they considered trading back into Round 1?

There were a few quality players still on the board late in the first round, including Nolan Smith, Felix Anudike-Uzomah and Myles Murphy. Smith went 30th to the Eagles, Anudike-Uzomah went 31st to the Chiefs and Murphy was taken 28th by the Bengals.

The Falcons currently hold the 44th and 75th picks on Day 2 of the 2023 NFL draft.
