A Scottish castle on the outskirts of Edinburgh is undergoing a huge refurbishment for future guests.
Following a whopping £3.4 million investment from The Cumberland Building Society, Carlowrie Castle will accommodate 50 guests once the works are complete.
The Scottish Baronial style castle was built in 1852 and boats 21 bedrooms with stunning views of the countryside. It has been awarded with a string of accolades over the years as well as being named one of the top three venues in Europe at the International Hotel Awards.

Now with the new investment, venue will be able to welcome more guests and an even greater choice of accommodation.
As Project Scotland reports, some work has already begun as a former derelict stables in the castle grounds has been transformed to a seven-bed home, all with en-suite bathrooms. Five modern cabins and a sauna will also be built, allowing a further 10 guests to stay.
When the works are complete, the castle and its 32-acre grounds will be able to sleep up to 50 guests.
