Fairytale Ayrshire wedding venue unveils new grand ballroom at heart of hotel

Stunning new pictures have emerged of the revamped Grand Ballroom at the Brig o’ Doon House Hotel in Alloway.

And couples who are planning their fairytale wedding at the famous Ayrshire hotel and wedding venue were afforded a sneak peek into the current improvements being carried out.

The new owners, Robert and Vivien Kyle, of the Cumnock-based RAD Hotel Group, last week issued a special invite to those who’ll be saying ‘I do’ at the iconic venue.

And on Monday night those love-struck couples were dazzled by the unveiling of the new Grand Ballroom, which will anchor many a wedding celebration in the months and years to come.

Last week we also told you how the RAD Group pledged to spent £2m on a major upgrade to the hotel, including;

● expanding the restaurant with a ‘wraparound’ feature to consolidate it into one space

● expanding the wedding venue with the addition of a new honeymoon suite with guest accommodation

● extending the pre-dinner drinks area towards the garden - with access to an outdoor balcony and to the gardens

● improved disabled access to all floors

● an additional 14 parking spaces at the nearby Kirkgate, to cater for wedding/bridal parties

We also told how a refurbishment of the hotel’s Grand Ballroom and Garden Lounge was “already underway” and been “received positively.”

The RAD Hotel Group said on social media: "We are delighted to reveal the initial part of our renovations to the stunning Grand Ballroom.

"Although we have some finishing touches still to take place, we just couldn't wait to share this!

"We have also made some progress outdoors, with the addition of our new patio area, perfectly framed by the Burns monument and iconic Brig - a beautiful new spot for your photographic memories."
