A former 'Fair City' and BBC's 'The Tudors' actor died suddenly over the weekend after a short illness.
Donie (Donal) Courtney, from Killarney, graduated from Dublin’s Gaiety School of Acting in 1991 and studied an MA in Theatre Practice in Maynooth.
The 52-year-old had an eventful acting career, featuring in 'The Tudors', 'Fair City', 'Acceptable Risk', 'Maru' and 'Cutting Grass'.

He also appeared in many plays, including 'The Importance of Being Earnest', 'Philadelphia, here I come!', 'The Man from Clare' and 'Waiting for Godot'.
He recently had joined forces with his close pal, Hollywood actor Michael Fassbender, to set up the West End House School of Arts in Killarney.
Donie was the son of former Killarney councillor Michael Courtney, who passed away in 2010.
He is survived by his wife Adeline and two children.
