Facundo Pellistri is attracting interest from a number of Championship clubs as Manchester United consider whether or not to terminate his current loan spell at Alaves.
The Uruguayan teenager re-joined the La Liga side on loan in the summer transfer window, having initially moved there at the start of last year, but has struggled for regular playing time.
Pellistri, 20, has only featured in 679 minutes of football across 19 appearances all season, with most of his outings coming from the bench.
Alaves changed managers last month when José Luis Mendilibar replaced Javier Calleja with Pellistri so far only managing five minutes under his new boss, although he did miss one match after a positive Covid test.
It is still unclear where the youngster stands in the new plans at Alaves, but United do have an option to recall him this month as part of a clause in his loan agreement, which stated they could terminate the deal early if he had not played 1,000 minutes before the start of December.
Reports in Spain suggest Alaves could themselves look to end the deal early as Mendilibar looks to stabilise the side that is currently in 18th-place in La Liga and fighting for survival.
MEN Sport understand a number of clubs have already shown an interest in signing Pellistri on loan if he does return to the club this month, though the decision is still expected to lie with the Spanish club.
United bought right-sided forward Pellistri from Penarol in a £9million deal back in October 2020 but he is yet to make a competitive appearance for the first-team.
The youngster, who was endorsed to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer by former teammate Diego Forlan, featured for the first-team during pre-season and scored a fine goal in a victory against Derby.
