Faces of four people police want to speak to straight away

Police want to speak to these four people about crimes which took place in Liverpool city centre.

The pictures have been released by Merseyside police in a bid to help solve active investigations.

The incidents range from a man being slashed in the neck in the street, to a man who was left with a head injury after being punched in a nightclub.

Police are urging the public to come forward if they have any information about the people pictured.

Man slashed in the street

Shoppers rushed out into the street to help a man after he was slashed in the neck.

The emergency services were called out to Colquitt Street at around 8pm on February 24 following reports a man had been attacked.

The suspect ran off from the scene on foot in the direction of Duke Street, onto Parr Street.

He is described as a white male, in his late 20s, around 5ft, 3in tall. At the time of the incident he was wearing dark clothing and had his hood up.

The victim was later treated in hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Detective Inspector Neil Dillon said: "This was a horrible attack which left a man injured, fortunately not more seriously.

"Unfortunately, in recent months we have seen the catastrophic consequences of knife crime on Merseyside and we simply won’t stand by and allow people to carry knives and threaten the safety of themselves and others.

"Our officers work tirelessly with businesses, licenced premises and the public and patrol busy areas of Merseyside at key times to ensure people can enjoy our city centre safely without fear of violence.

"We are working to find the person responsible for this attack and put them before the courts and we would urge anyone with information to come forward.

"We understand that there was a group of people on Colquitt Street and within the Amsterdam Convenience Store who helped the victim directly after the assault.

"If this was you, then please get in touch as information you hold could be vital to our ongoing investigation.

"Similarly if you were in the Colquitt Street area on Thursday night and saw anything suspicious then please come forward and tell us what you know to remove dangerous weapons and those who use them from our streets."

Schoolboy attacked on Boxing Day

A schoolboy was attacked and robbed of his coat in Liverpool city centre on Boxing day.

The 15-year-old boy was with another teenage friend when he was approached by a gang of five men in Williamson Square.

He was then attacked as the gang demanded he hand over his coat, at around 3.50pm on December 26.

After handing over his coat he was then chased to St John's Precinct where he was again attacked by the suspects.

Detectives issued a CCTV image of a man they'd like to speak to about the attack.

Man slashed outside JD Sports

The emergency services were called out to Liverpool ONE at around 6.30pm on Wednesday following reports of an incident.

A man, 20, was later taken to hospital with a deep cut to his face.

Support worker Harry Moran, 21, used his first aid skills to help the victim. Mr Moran, from Anfield, said the victim appeared to have suffered a serious knife wound to his face, just below his eye.

Mr Moran used his hoodie to stem the flow of blood and spoke to the victim about Liverpool FC in an attempt to calm him down.

Mr Moran said: "I could see the lad had been badly hurt. The cut was very deep. You could see the blade had really cut into his face. Fortunately it had just missed his eye."

In January police released a CCTV still of a man they wished to speak to in relation to the incident. Speaking at the time Detective Inspector David Jones said: "This man has suffered a serious injury that has left him with a deep lasting scar across his face.

"Thankfully he is now recovering at home, but this was still a horrible unprovoked attack that no one should go through when shopping in Liverpool.

"Since the assault we have carried out a number of CCTV and witness enquiries and would like to appeal to anyone who recognises this man or saw the attack whilst out shopping on Paradise Street to come forward and speak to us as we believe they could help with our enquiries.

"We have unfortunately in recent weeks seen the catastrophic consequences of knife crime on Merseyside. We simply will not stand by and allow people to carry knives and threaten the safety of themselves and others.

"We are committed to removing knives from our streets and putting the people prepared to carry them before the courts.

"We have also carried out regular stop searches, warrants and open land searches to locate knives and ensure those who store, carry and use them are brought to justice."

Man punched in Rubber Soul

Police released a CCTV still of a man they would like to speak to after an attack in city centre bar Rubber Soul.

A 34-year-old man was attacked at around 11.15pm on Saturday, December 18. The victim required treatment for head injury after the incident.

Speaking after the incident Detective Inspector Chris Saidi said: "This was a dangerous and reckless attack that has left the victim seriously injured, and such violence like this will never be tolerated on the streets of Merseyside.

"This incident took place at a time where it would have been busy time, so if you were in the vicinity at around 11.15pm on Saturday 18 December and saw anything, then please contact us.

"I am also appealing for people to come forward if you recognise the male featured in these images. We believe he could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries."

A police spokesman said that 'enquiries remain ongoing' in relation to the four incidents in this story. Anyone with information can DM @MerPolCC or @CrimestoppersUK.
