Faces of 20 people police want to speak to immediately

Police want to speak to these 20 people after incidents that have been committed in the region.

CCTV images have been released in a bid to help active investigations into crimes committed across Liverpool and Wirral. The crimes range from a schoolgirl being sexually assaulted on Church Street to a distraction theft in an Iceland supermarket.

Merseyside Police believe the people photographed in these appeals have information that could solve active cases. All appeals listed have been released from March this year, however some crimes date back to June 2022.

A recent appeal links to an incident when a 13-year-old girl reported she was approached by a man at around 8.30pm on Saturday, March 18. It was reported that the man inappropriately touched the girl and then began dancing on Church Street. The man then walked away when he was informed of the girl's age.

A man police wish to find as he may help the investigation, has been pictured in the article above. Police are urging the public to come forward if they have any information about the people pictured. People are asked to DM @MerPolCC or @CrimestoppersUK anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Schoolboy approached by men who warned 'we've got knives on us'

A schoolboy "thought he was going to die" after being threatened by two men who claimed they had knives. Sean Hayes, 15, was travelling from Birkenhead to his dad's house in Liverpool on Friday 31 March when he was approached by two men on William Brown Street in the city centre.

Mum Emma Diamond said the men told her son "listen to us now and do as you're told, we've got knives on us." The men then demanded Sean hand over his mobile phone.

Merseyside Police has issued CCTV of two men they believe could assist with their investigation. A police spokesperson said no injuries were reported and no weapon was seen during the robbery, but the victim was very shaken as a result.

Man seriously hurt in city centre street attack

The suspect left the scene of the incident with a woman in a taxi. Police have reported that the attack took place at around 2.20am on Saturday, February 11, on Church Street.

They said that after an altercation, a man was assaulted by another man on Church Street. The 20-year-old victim suffered serious facial injuries and required hospital treatment.

The alleged offender then left the scene in the direction of Central Station and got into a taxi. Police think the man in the picture can help them with their investigation.

Man threatened by knife gang in city street

Detectives have shared CCTV images of a man who they believe could have information that could help with their investigation following the incident, which took place just after 5am on Sunday, February 5.

It was reported that the male victim was on Back Colquitt Street when he was approached by a group of men armed with a knife. They ordered the victim to hand over his possessions, leaving him feeling shaken.

Detective Inspector Neil Dillon said: “This was a frightening incident for the victim to have experienced and thankfully he wasn’t injured during the robbery. We urge people who were in the vicinity at around 5am on Sunday 5 February and may have noticed something suspicious to please contact us."

Woman raped in city centre alleyway near nightclub

The victim, in her 20s, said she was sexually assaulted by a man on Temple Lane, an alleyway off Victoria Street. The incident happened close to OMG Liverpool nightclub.

It was reported to have happened at around 5.30am on Saturday, March 18. Detective Sergeant Joe Rea said: "If you know this man please come forward now, as he may have vital information to assist us.

"We also think that there were other people in the vicinity who may have seen some of the incident, or be able to provide details."

Baa Baa attack spilled into street leaving man injured

The victim was assaulted inside Baa Bar at around 1.30am on Wednesday, November 30. Security staff kicked the group out of the bar but a further attack then took place along Wood Street. Police believe the men pictured could help with their investigation.

The suspects ran from the scene soon after the attack, leaving the victim in need of medical treatment. Detective inspector Katie Coote said: "Such violence like this will not be tolerated which has left the victim requiring medical treatment.

"People should be able to enjoy a night out without being subjected to any kind of violence or fear of being assaulted. I am also appealing to the men featured in the images, or anyone who recognises them to come forward."

Man kicked and punched by stranger outside pub

Merseyside Police received a report after a man was kicked and punched several times by another man outside a pub on Bewley Drive in Kirkby. The attack happened just before 9.10pm on Thursday, March 23.

The suspect ran away from the pub when other people came outside. The victim was "very distressed" after the attack and suffered serious injuries including cuts and bruises.

Detective Inspector Alan Wood said: "This was a violent attack on a man who could have been left with serious injuries and we are working to find whoever was responsible and bring them to justice. I am appealing to the man shown in this CCTV footage, or anyone who recognises him to come forward as we believe he could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries."

Burglar stole money, purse and bank cards

A suspect broke into Bridge Farm on News Lane, on Friday, April 14. They took money, a purse and bank cards in the early hours. Officers said that no threats were made during the burglary. Police believe the man pictured could help with their investigation.

Detective Inspector Tracey Martin said: "Burglaries and theft from a business is not a victimless crime as they have a huge impact on the community in many ways, especially small businesses trying to make an honest living. We are determined to find the offender so that other businesses are not targeted in future."

Woman raped in street after speaking to man in city centre bar

A woman was allegedly raped after speaking to a man in a city centre bar. The victim, in her 20s, reported that she spoke to a man in McCooley's on Concert Square bar a few hours before the assault.

Later that night, at around 3.30am on Sunday, March 12, the woman was raped on Back Berry Street.

She described her attacker as having afro-style hair, being around 5ft 5inches tall, of slim build and wearing a black bomber jacket. Officers have released an image of a man who they believe may have information to assist their investigation.

Woman sexually assaulted in pub

A woman was approached and sexually assaulted by a man in a city centre pub.

A report was made to Merseyside Police after a woman was approached by a man inside The Rocking Horse Pub on Great Charlotte Street on Wednesday, December 28. After approaching the woman, the man went on to sexually assault her.

Since the assault officers have carried out extensive CCTV examinations and witness enquiries and detectives have now issued CCTV images of a man they believe could assist with their investigation.

Detective inspector Chris Saidi said: "This woman was left shocked and distressed by this appalling incident, and we are determined to bring the man responsible to justice. We think the man pictured may have vital information that could help our enquiries so if you know him, please come forward as soon as possible."

Woman, 92, has purse stolen after being followed into Iceland

Merseyside police have released CCTV images of two women they want to speak to, after an alleged theft on Wednesday, March 22, as they maybe able to help with an investigation. Officers say an elderly woman was followed into Iceland, on Cherryfield Drive, at around 11.45am by two women.

One woman reportedly distracted the victim while the other offender took the victim’s purse from her handbag. CCTV and witness enquiries have been conducted and now police have released the image appeal.

Designer clothes and trainers were stolen from Bootle

Five men who may have information following a high-value burglary at a storage unit on Derby Road, Bootle (Merseyside Police)

Five men are wanted by police to help with their investigations after designer items stolen. Police said the items which were taken had a high value and were in two storage lockers.

The burglary took place at a unit on Derby Road, Bootle, between between 6pm on Tuesday, June 28, and 2pm on Wednesday, June 29, last year. Officers have images of five men they want to speak to in connection to the burglary as they may be able to help the investigation.
