Facebook down as glitch makes homepages only show posts on celebrity pages

Facebook is reportedly down for thousands of users this morning with people complaining of a 'weird' homepage glitch.

Facebook users in the UK, USA and Australia are all reporting the strange error which has seen their homepages and feeds 'flooded' with posts left on celebrity fan pages.

Online outage tracker Down Detector is reporting complaints from all over the globe, with the majority of reports marking issues with both the Facebook News Feed and the app.

According to Down Detector's stats, issues began here in the UK at around 7am.

Reports on Twitter are sharing that Facebook users are all experiencing the same issue: homepages are not showing posts from friends and pages that users follow and instead are seeing random posts on celebrity pages.

One Twitter user wrote: "Is anyone else’s Facebook broken or have I been hacked."

"What is going on with Facebook? I don’t want to see random peoples comments on pages I’ve liked. Make it stop!" added another.

"Is anyone else’s Facebook News Feeds being flooded with posts to celebrity’s pages?" questioned another.

Glasgow Live have contacted Meta for comment.
