Facebook and Instagram both currently seem to be down.
Multiple reports have been made of users being unable to access the site.
Downdetector.com, which records outages for websites, have seen a huge surge in the numbers of people reporting issues with both social media sites, which are owned by Meta.
As of 8.40pm, over 5,000 people had reported issues accessing the social media sites following the issue, which appeared to happen at around 8.35pm.
DownDetector tweeted that both Facebook and Instagram reported problems in the past half an hour. It is thought to be affecting people across the globe.
People have taken to Twitter to post their issues with the sites. Both sites appeared to be back online by 9.20pm.
