Facebook accused of promoting violence against Rohingya in Myanmar

Amnesty International accuses Facebook of exacerbating human rights violations in Myanmar. It claims the social network proactively "amplified" anti-Rohingya content back in 2017, when the country's military launched a deadly crackdown on the ethnic minority. Patrick de Brun, a researcher at Amnesty International who wrote the report, tells us more about how the evidence came to light.

Also in this edition, India is seeing benefits from a big-budget tourism campaign it launched last year to lure people to Kashmir. More than 1.6 million Indians visited the disputed territory in the first six months of this year. The region boasts stunning Himalayan scenery, but it is also the site of a deadly insurgency.
