Pictures taken outside court show the face of dad Adam White who has admitted cruelty to his 18-day-old son who passed away in his care. More details providing a fuller backdrop to the tragedy will be told in court on Monday, May 23, when White and his former partner, Terri Walters, will be sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court in the afternoon.
Walters arrived early for what had provisionally been earmarked to be her sentencing hearing on Friday, May 20, wearing a cropped top and jeans. She was later followed by White - wearing a face mask, suit and tie - and they entered the Canal Street court building together.
Both defendants confirmed their names as they were read out to them in the dock and they sat on the same row with a few seats between them. Walters became emotional and bowed her head as Judge Gregory Dickinson QC, the Recorder of Nottingham, said the case had to be adjourned, one of many adjournments in the case in recent weeks.

Walters stared blankly ahead and appeared in deep thought as matters were discussed between the prosecution and barristers representing the former couple, who pleaded guilty months ago. Their son, Hunter White, tragically died due to a lack of oxygen and blood flow to the brain, the court had previously heard.
He died as a result of what is called "positional asphyxia" when he was in the care of White. White, 45, of Foxhill Road East, Carlton, "fell asleep under the influence of something" and Hunter, facedown, died.
Walters, 32, of Kingsway Gardens, Hucknall, was in the house at the time. She had also been taking drugs and went to bed, leaving the baby with his dad when "not safe to do," Judge Dickinson previously said.
Both parents, who have longstanding drug problems, were charged with cruelty to a child which they have now admitted - Walters entering her plea on March 2 and White pleading guilty last September. Hunter was pronounced dead by paramedics who were called to Kingsway Gardens, Hucknall, on July 10, 2020.
The court had heard how Hunter was facedown and could not breathe or move as he died. Join us for live updates on Monday for the sentencing of White and Walters.
