Fabio Vieira and Tomiyasu involved as Torreira returns in Arsenal training session for Sevilla

Arsenal's preparations for Saturday's Emirates Cup showdown against Sevilla are complete.

The Gunners go into the game at the Emirates Stadium on the back of a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Brentford in a behind-closed-doors friendly earlier in the week - the only blemish on an otherwise perfect record in pre-season which includes wins over Everton and Chelsea.

With this being the final warm-up fixture pencilled in for Arsenal before they kick-off the new Premier League campaign against Crystal Palace next Friday night, it is perhaps the last chance for many players to stake a claim to be named in the starting line-up at Selhurst Park.

As is always the case before a game, whether it's a competitive one or not, manager Mikel Arteta and his coaching staff put the Gunners squad through their paces during a training session at London Colney on Friday afternoon, with media footage released to get fans in the mood.

The good news, judging by the images, is that almost every single first-team player trained. This includes Aaron Ramsdale, Gabriel Martinelli, Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Jesus, Bukayo Saka, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Granit Xhaka, Ben White, Marquinhos, Thomas Partey, Matt Turner, Rob Holding, Gabriel Magalhaes, Pablo Mari, Nicolas Pepe, Emile Smith Rowe, William Saliba, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Reiss Nelson, Hector Bellerin, Mohamed Elneny, Kieran Tierney and Eddie Nketiah.

Furthermore, Lucas Torreira was back at London Colney after apparently leaving the USA tour earlier than expected as he trained in the No. 28 shirt, with the No. 35 going to Zinchenko following his arrival from Manchester City in a £32m deal exactly one week ago.

The most encouraging sign from the session was arguably the fact that both Takehiro Tomiyasu and Fabio Vieira were involved. Neither played a single minute in the USA, with Arteta delivering a mixed update on the pair: "Yeah, Tomi is really close to start doing some training sessions," he said after the 4-0 win over Chelsea.

"Hopefully, next week and Fabio probably a little bit longer. I think he needs another week or so before he starts with the team, but he's been working hard, and he's been really unlucky to start his Arsenal career in this way, but again he's fitting in well."

Whilst the £30m summer signing from Porto has already teased making his debut against Sevilla on Instagram, taking part in Friday's session is certainly a step in the right direction, but based on Arteta's previous assessment it appears the game against the La Liga outfit will come too soon for the 22-year-old.

In terms of absentees, there was no sign of Nuno Tavares, Bernd Leno or Arthur Okonkwo. This could be significant as the former pair of players have been linked with moves away and perhaps this is the clearest hint yet that they are close to joining Marseille and Fulham, respectively, while the latter has now completed his loan move to League Two side Crewe Alexandra.
