Fabio Silva adamant Rangers loan move was a success

Fabio Silva insists he gained more than he lost in the season just past when he spent the second half of it on loan at Rangers.

Despite coming in for some intense criticism during his few months at Ibrox, the Portuguese attacker seems to have found his experience in Glasgow positive.

The one-time £35m striker arrived on loan from Premier League outfit Wolves in early January as Philippe Clement's first signing.

Cyriel Dessers was the preferred option to lead the line for the Belgian boss, with Silva often deployed wide left.

He scored six goals in all competitions but didn't manage any assists.

Silva's last game ended in defeat as Celtic ran out 1-0 winners in the final of the Scottish Cup.

Now the domestic campaign is over, Silva has taken to social media to talk about his lessons learned both on and off the pitch this term.

He wrote on Instagram: "Life will knock us down but we can choose whether or not to get back up. Life is made up of good and bad moments. Of ups and downs.

"This season I gained much more than I lost. I lived in new stadiums, new environments and in a different city. It was a year of learning and a year that made me a man.

"I learned that the important thing is to never give up and that I must mature every day so that the result is consistent. Thank you to everyone. To my parents, my brothers, family, friends and my agent. To Wolverhampton and Rangers.

"The important thing is to be desired and happy. And with them, I can do anything. "Trust the process always."

Silva will return to his parent club Wolves for pre-season in early July.
