Fabio Paratici could secure double Juventus transfer as Spurs ‘in pole position’ for £22.5m star

Tottenham Hotspur could reportedly be set to add to their signing of Dejan Kulusevski with the transfer of Juventus teammate Rodrigo Bentancur.

football.london understands that Spurs are currently in talks with the Italian giants regarding a potential transfer for the former as they attempt to find an alternative for Luis Diaz, who appears to be set for a move to Liverpool.

Tottenham director of football Fabio Paratici is in talks with Juventus regarding a loan deal with an option to buy Kulusevski.

Whilst the north London side are hopeful of coming to an agreement for the Sweden international, it appears that they could also be set to sign his Juve teammate Rodrigo Bentancur.

According to GOAL’s Romeo Agresto, Spurs are in ‘pole position’ for the Uruguay midfielder, with suggestions that he could potentially be set to arrive on another loan deal.

The move would certainly be a surprise considering it appeared that the 24-year-old was edging towards a move to Premier League rivals Aston Villa, whilst French side Olympique Lyonnais were credited with an interest in the three-time Serie A winner.

Bentancur, a 46-time Uruguayan international, has been a Juventus player since the summer of 2017 and has gone on to rack up 181 appearances for the Bianconeri.

In that time, he has netted three goals, whilst providing a further 18 assists.

It is likely that he would act as a direct replacement for either Tanguy Ndombele or Giovani Lo Celso - both of whom have been linked with moves to Paris Saint-Germain.

The former Boca Juniors playmaker has two-and-a-half years left on his current deal in Turin.

Should Spurs seal deals for both Kulusevski and Bentancur in the final few days of the window, it would see them miss out on a long-term target.

football.london understands that Paratici has held talks with the representatives of Weston McKennie.

Unless purchased on a permanent deal, the American would not be able to sign for Spurs due to loan rules restricting only two international loans between the same clubs - spaces that would of course be used up by Kulusevski and Bentancur.
