It really is a summer like no other at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with Tottenham having four new signings in through the door five weeks before their Premier League opener against Southampton. So often late movers in the transfer market in years gone by, the Lilywhites have made a real statement of intent with four quality additions.
With Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic and Yves Bissouma joining last month, Friday morning saw Spurs complete the signing of Richarlison from Everton in a deal worth £60million including add-ons. The Brazilian international, who has a wealth of Premier League experience under his belt after first linking up with Watford in 2017, has signed a deal in north London until 2027.
Capable of playing across the frontline having played as a central striker for the Toffees on numerous occasions as well as his usual position on the left flank, the 25-year-old will give Antonio Conte plenty of options in attack next season. A new attacker was always high up on Fabio Paratici's summer transfer list, and the managing director of football has really delivered with the acquisition of the Brazilian international.

Tottenham already boast a lethal front three in Son Heung-min, Dejan Kulusevski and Harry Kane, with Richarlison now giving them even more firepower up front. Some fans may question why the club have spent so much money on a position they are already so strong in but it is what the best clubs in the world do best.
The Lilywhites have quite simply strengthened a position of strength. Liverpool have been the masters of it in recent seasons with FSG's transfer model ensuring that Jurgen Klopp's team remain challenging at the top both at home and in Europe thanks to Michael Edwards' transfer dealings.
Forming such a good side at Anfield after years of struggle which saw them not win a league title since the 1989/90 campaign, the Reds' attacking brand of football caught everybody's eye as Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino wowed after forming a devastating partnership. The key when you're at the top is to not stand still, with Liverpool proving that point three months after winning their first Premier League title as Diogo Jota signed in a £41m deal from Wolves.
The Portuguese star was an instant hit at Anfield, scoring 13 goals in his 30 appearances in all competitions in his first season at the club. Despite having a brilliant attacking quartet at his disposal, Klopp and Liverpool weren't quite done there in adding to their eye-catching frontline as Luiz Diaz joined in a big-money move from Porto 16 months later.
Tottenham had tried to sign the Colombian ace but their attempts saw Liverpool spring into action sooner than expected having initially planned to move for the attacker this summer. Showcasing in his first few months on Merseyside why exactly he was signed, Diaz's arrival has certainly softened the blow of the Reds losing Mane to Bayern Munich.
Tottenham are now doing the same with Richarlison boosting an impressive attack that no Premier League defenders will want to face next term. Son and Kane, who turn 30 and 29 respectively later this month, have been at the forefront of the Tottenham team over the past six years but there will come a time later down the line when both will need to be replaced.
Richarlison, 25, and Kulusevski, 22, have their best football ahead of them and their ages mean that both can play a huge role for the Lilywhites over the coming years. It's not just in attack where there has been a repeat of Liverpool's FSG transfer model, however, as Bissouma gives Tottenham so much strength in depth in the middle of the park.
Paratici and Tottenham have made a real statement in the transfer market this summer and the club are not done just yet as they look to go up another level or two under Conte in 2022/23. Top teams never stand still in the transfer market and always continue to strengthen, with Tottenham now following suit in such a pivotal year for the club.
