Fabian Schar insists it won't just be about pretty football when it comes to Newcastle United's battle for a Champions League place.
The Switzerland international stated that United will have to be "nasty" if they are to beat the likes of Chelsea to the top four this term. Their 1-0 victory over the Blues put them nine points clear of the team from Stamford Bridge.
In a game that ended with Kai Havertz having to be restrained following a clash with Dan Burn it emerged that the Geordie defender's running battle with the Germany international had sparked the crazy scenes.

Schar said after the game: "It was unbelievable. When you see the last 10 minutes how we left everything on the pitch, we were desperate to win.
"Sometimes you have to be nasty and put everything on the pitch. We did that brilliantly and overall I think we deserved to win.
"It was a great to finish the first part of the season like that."
The match concluded with Jamaal Lascelles also picking up a booking for rattling Marc Cucurella as he warmed up. And Schar said Newcastle will leave no stone unturned for victories.
Schar said: "We just want to win you know. We do everything to win.
"Putting everybody on the line, every tackle counts and it was a real fight. We didn't give Chelsea any chances to score, this is how you win games against them.
"We wanted more so we're really proud of the team."
Schar knows that if Newcastle can repeat the form of their first 15 matches in the next 15 they go into the run-in as Champions League and possibly title contenders.
Schar told Chronicle Live: "Where we are now and when you see the first 15 games what we have achieved is excellent. We can be really pleased with that.
"We know we are not even halfway in the Premier League yet. It's still a long season and we have to do the same when we come back.
"Obviously we are in a great position and we have to come back and try the same again."
The Toon centre-back now hooks up with Switzerland for the World Cup where he will face Bruno Guimaraes and Brazil, Cameroon and Serbia. While he does not want the domestic season to end he knows duty calls.
Schar said: "Obviously we have had six wins in a row and are in a great position. I don't want to stop the season with Newcastle but I think it's the same for everybody.
"I'm going to the World Cup which is something special as well. So I feel a bit of both.
"I don't want to leave Newcastle but playing at the World Cup with Switzerland is something special. I'll enjoy that and then I will be happy when I come back."
