FA investigating Arsenal celebrations after last-minute Reiss Nelson winner vs Bournemouth

The FA are looking into Arsenal's celebrations after Reiss Nelson's late winner against Bournemouth on Saturday football.london understands.

The Gunners fought back from 2-0 down to claim a dramatic victory at the Emirates Stadium courtesy of Nelson's 97th minute strike. Following the goal the club's coaching staff and substitutes poured on to the pitch to celebrate the goal. Mikel Arteta himself did not stray onto the pitch, however.

It is understood that referee Chris Kavanagh has reported these celebrations to the FA. The authorities are now thought to be investigating them, although it is not clear if Arsenal will receive any sanction for them.

The IFAB Laws of the Game dictate that those in the technical area "must behave in a responsible manner" and "must remain within its confines except in special circumstances, e.g. a physiotherapist/doctor entering the field of play, with the referee’s permission, to assess an injured player."

In 2018 Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was fined £8,000 for admitting to a charge of misconduct from the FA after running on to the pitch at Anfield to celebrate Divock Origi's late winner in the Merseyside Derby with Alisson.

Speaking after the dramatic game Bournemouth manager Gary O'Neil admitted that he had no issue with the actions of Arsenal players and staff after the late goal.

"I’ve no comment to make on what Arsenal did," O'Neil said in his post-match press conference. "I shook hands with Mikel, it was a game he needed to win and I needed something from it too. We went to battle and he came out on top. They scored the goal, so they can celebrate however they like."
