F1: Max Verstappen hints at retirement date - ‘I’ve already achieved everything I wanted’

Max Verstappen has suggested he will walk away from Formula One that the end of his current Red Bull contract.

Currently tied down to 2028, the two-time world champion insists he has already competed his career goals at the age of 25.

“The problem is that we are traveling so much and it’s getting more and more,” he told CNN.

“Basically, the question is, ‘Is it worth it to spend so much time away from family and friends by chasing more success?’.

“And I mean, I already achieved everything I wanted in Formula One. But I know I have a contract until 2028.”

Exactly what Verstappen has planned for his post-F1 life remains unclear but the Dutch racer suggested it will be away from the track.

He continued: “I’ll be 31. It’s still pretty young, but like I said, I also want to do different things in life.”

Verstappen will get the second defence of his F1 title underway next month with the Bahrain Grand Prix kicking off the 2023 season.
