Max Verstappen can win the 2022 Formula One Drivers’ Championship at the next race after claiming victory in the Italian Grand Prix.
A 116-point lead over Charles Leclerc with six races left means he need only take a further 14 points off his title rival in Singapore next month to secure a second world crown.
After Sunday’s race, George Russell moved within touching distance of Sergio Perez in third while Lewis Hamilton remains sixth and Lando Norris built out his lead in seventh place as the best of the rest.
