Red Bull took a significant bite out of Ferrari’s lead in the Formula One Constructors’ Championship with a 1-2 at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.
Carlos Sainz spun off for the second race in a row during the first lap before Charles Leclerc lost his grip on second place. The Scuderia star then went off the track late on in pursit of race winner Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, and he finished sixth.
Mercedes continued their reasonable return on a poor start to the year as George Russell rose from 11th on the grid to finish fourth, ahead of Valtteri Bottas.
Despite Daniel Ricciardo being dropped to the back by the early mayhem, Lando Norris secured McLaren a solid haul with the final place on the podium.
