Oscar Piastri will start the Brazilian Grand Prix sprint race from pole position in an all-McLaren front row after beating Lando Norris.

The Australian’s final lap in sprint qualifying edged out his team-mate by 0.029s, with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc in third ahead of Formula 1 world championship leader Max Verstappen in fourth.

Oliver Bearman became a late Haas super-sub after Kevin Magnussen was ruled out by illness, with the British driver installed for the entire race weekend in Brazil, as he qualified 10th for the sprint race.

Lewis Hamilton was dumped out in the second session in sprint qualifying and will start 11th for Mercedes, while Sergio Perez endured another nightmare and will start 13th for Red Bull.
