'Extremely dangerous' monster caged following serious violent offences against women in Scotland

An "extremely dangerous" monster has been caged following a series of serious violent offences against women in Central Scotland.

Gary Dysart, 40, carried out the offences against two women between 2005 and 2019.

The brute was found guilty at the High Court in Livingston on Wednesday, April 20.

He has been jailed for nine years and handed a 12 year non-harassment order.

Police have hailed the sentencing and insist it "sends a clear message" that evil crimes of this nature "will not be tolerated".

Detective Sergeant Gillian Paddon said: “Gary Dysart is an extremely violent and dangerous man who will now face the consequences of his actions.

“This sentencing sends a clear message that crimes of this nature will not be tolerated and will be robustly investigated by Police Scotland.

“I would like to take this opportunity to commend the strength and courage shown by the victims and hope that this sentencing provides some form of closure.

“I would urge anyone who feels they've been a victim of abuse, or has concerns about friends or family members, to get in touch with police."

Anyone with any information or concerns can contact police on 101, or anonymously via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
