  • Pacoima (Whiteman Apt.): 78 mph
  • Saddle Peak: 72 mph
  • Chilao: 69 mph
  • Topanga: 43 mph

The National Weather Service has issued warnings for continued high winds overnight and into Wednesday morning. The forecast includes widespread damaging north to northeast winds and extreme fire weather conditions. Downed trees, power outages, hazardous driving conditions, increased traffic, and airport delays are expected across the Southland.

Red flag warnings have been issued for over 18 million people in Southern California due to the combination of gusty winds and very dry air. Wind gusts could reach up to 80 mph in some areas, with the potential for gusts up to 100 mph in mountainous regions. The dry air, with relative humidity dropping to 10 percent, poses a significant fire risk.

The public is advised to stay informed about the weather conditions and take necessary precautions to stay safe during this period of heightened fire danger.
