Extras wanted for new Russell Crowe movie shooting in Ireland in August and September

Extras are currently being sought for Russell Crowe's latest movie which will be shot in Ireland in August and September.

The Oscar winner stars in The Pope's Exorcist which sees him take on the role of the Vatican's chief exorcist, Father Gabriele Amorth, who is said to have performed over 100,000 exorcisms.

Fr Amorth previously worked as a lawyer and served in World War II before becoming a priest in 1954 and an exorcist in 1986. He wrote two memoirs before he died in 2016 at the age of 91.

The movie could see Crowe land in Bray and South Dublin for filming in August and September with the casting company seeking "Mediterranean/South American" looking people to play extras.

This is because the movie is set in Spain and Italy in the mid-1990s.

A notice on MovieExtras.ie says they are looking for "people with excellent availability throughout August and September in the Bray/ South Dublin area."

As well as Mediterranean, they say they are also looking "for some black men and women over 50 who could pull off a cardinal or priest look."

"We're looking for both men and women, mostly adults though there will be some teenagers required as well."

Issuing advice to would-be applicants, the casting company says: "We're looking for natural looks please - no acrylic nails or tattooed eyebrows, fake tan, visible tattoos or facial piercings.

"No fade haircuts please. No visible tattoos or facial piercings."

"As this is a costumed production, inclusion of accurate costume measurements (Bust/Chest, Waist, Hips, Inseam, Shoe Size) are required upon application submission and two current photos - non filtered (head & shoulders and full length please)."

Shooting stars in August with dates up until the end of September.

"Please be aware that continuity will be required - meaning the same background artists will be required for multiple shoot days. The more flexible your availability, the better," they added.
