Violent clashes broke out this morning after Extinction Rebellion activists brought disruption to commuters with a series of protests across the transport network.
Police hit out at protesters for "dangerously obstructing" the Jubilee Line and DLR services by climbing on top of carriages or gluing themselves on trains. In one dramatic scene, commuters were seen dragging an activist from the the top of a train at Canning Town .
Extinction Rebellion later issued an apology for the Tube disruption after major public backlash.
The group later gathered in Trafalgar Square under a "not all crusties banner" as the activists hope to showcase that some of their members have professional jobs.
