Reports indicate that a significant explosion occurred at a meeting of M23 rebel group leaders and residents in Bukavu, eastern Congo, resulting in dozens of injuries. Social media footage shared on Thursday captured the chaotic scene as attendees fled in panic and bloodied individuals lay on the ground.
The explosion took place during a meeting between M23 rebel group leaders and residents in the central part of Bukavu. Notably, Corneille Nangaa, the leader of the Congo River Alliance (AFC) which includes the M23, was among the rebel leaders present at the gathering.
