Experts say Gary Neville could be a permanent fixture on Dragons' Den

Following the announcement Gary Neville will be a guest judge on Dragons’ Den, bookies reckon it won’t be his final appearance and he could land a permanent role on the show.

Paddy Power also think that if Gary’s loan move to the Den pays off, he might be appearing on other reality TV shows soon, with this year’s Strictly Come Dancing give the greatest cha cha chance.

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! (8/1), Dancing on Ice (10/1) and Great Celebrity Bake Off (10/1) are other options on the table.

The Apprentice could be another destination for the pundit, with a 12/1 chance he’ll appear as in interviewer soon. And, no stranger to sacking people at Salford, G Nev is 20/1 to be saying “You’re fired!” even more often by taking over from Lord Sugar in the main role.

But the boardroom is a far likelier destination than the Old Trafford dugout, with the former Red Devil rated 150/1 to be next to land the top job at Manchester United.

Gary’s turn on Dragons’ Den might only be the tip of the iceberg for special guests, with his best fr-enemy Jamie Carragher 3/1 to get in on the act and appear on the show. Wrexham megastars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are both 5/1 to appear as guest judges. Becks, meanwhile, sits at a pretty 4/1.

Spokesperson for Paddy Power, Rachael Kane, said: “After showing how expertly he managed a group of highly-valuable assets during his time at Valencia, Gary Neville is absolutely the first name you think of when you hear the term ‘business acumen’, so his appearance on Dragon’s Den makes total sense.

“The show’s hotseats might be a different type of bench to the one Gaz would have been used to warming in the twilight of his football career, but at least he won’t be on the receiving end of a Fergie-style hairdryer… unless he crosses Peter Jones that is.”
