Exide to invest ₹6,000 crore on lithium-ion cell factory

Exide Industries will make an investment of ₹6,000 crore to set up a lithium-ion cell manufacturing giga factory in Karnataka.

This would be one of the country’s largest giga factories for Advanced Cell Chemistry Technology, said a statement from the State Industries Department on Thursday.

Exide has requested the State Government for 80 acres of land in Haraluru Industrial Area near Bengaluru airport. The project is expected to generate 1,200 to 1,400 jobs.

In this connection, Exide MD & CEO Subir Chakraborty also had a meeting with Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
