Exhibition projects deals worth B6bn

Mrs Varaporn expects the expo will help manufacturers seek new business opportunities.

Exhibition organiser RX Tradex aims to facilitate business matching pacts with a value estimated at 6 billion baht during its Manufacturing Expo 2023, scheduled for later this month in Bangkok.

The exhibition features new Thai manufacturing trends and is expected to increase investment in the country, said Varaporn Dhamcharee, managing director of RX Tradex.

"The reopening of the country and the easing of Covid-19 are positive for the domestic economy and business sentiment here," she said.

The government fully reopened the country in July last year, which led to more economic activity, especially in the tourism and service sectors.

According to the Federation of Thai Industries, entrepreneurs in industries related to tourism enjoyed better sales, driven by more foreign tourist arrivals.

In April, the manufacturing of malt and malt-derived alcohol increased by 17.5% year-on-year as the higher number of tourists and Songkran festival boosted domestic consumption, the Office of Industrial Economics said recently.

RX Tradex expects the four-day Manufacturing Expo to help maintain the economic recovery momentum.

The event is scheduled for June 21-24 at Bitec Bang Na, aiming to propel business matching deals that totalled 5 billion baht during last year's edition.

This year's expo, which also showcases the latest technologies in the industrial sector, is expected to welcome companies from 30 countries.

"We have registered significant interest in the expo from both exhibitors and visitors, who asked us about the event's details," said Mrs Varaporn.

"This reflects demand and readiness for new business negotiations to seek investment opportunities."

Last year roughly 50,000 visitors participated in the expo.

The organiser believes visitor numbers will increase to 70,000 this year.

The 2023 version of the expo includes various exhibitions, including InterPlas Thailand, which focuses on machinery, chemicals and raw materials, InterMold Thailand, which features mould-making technology, and Automotive Manufacturing highlighting auto parts production.
