Exhibition explores the meaning of perfection

Five female artists reveal their hidden emotions and memories through brushstrokes during "Imperfection", which is running at RCB Galleria 4, 2nd floor of River City Bangkok, Charoen Krung 24, until Oct 2.

The exhibition touches on the classic quote "nobody is perfect" that most people seem to concur with, but many continue to chase perfection and struggle to hide their flaws, especially in this highly competitive society where individuals always strive to be the best.

Having experience with "imperfection" in their personal lives as an individual, an artist or a mother, the five artists narrate their stories through their distinct styles and characters to encourage everyone to embrace their own imperfections. They believe that accepting flaws is the path to true perfection.

Jang Onanong portrays a girl with large, expressive sparkling eyes in her paintings as inspired by the joy she sees in her daily life and her childhood memories of growing up in a family with only female members.

Influenced by Buddhist philosophy on impermanence, non-existence and non-self, Pacharaporn "Jeentee" Baiposuwan's paintings were created from a mixture of the subconscious and the conscious.

While self-taught artist Pang Torsuwan has chosen to portray the complexity of women in different aspects through overlapping pictures of females, Kannika Jansuwan presents heroic figures from comic books and ancient mythology.

As a mother of a six-year-old daughter, Suwannee Sarakana focuses more on children and their fantasies about a beautiful world.
