Exclusive: Suzanne Bernert mourns Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat co-star Tunisha Sharma’s demise, says ‘I am gutted; she was an angel who left us early’

Actress Suzanne Bernert shared a beautiful relationship with late actress Tunisha Sharma in Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat. Suzanne essayed the role of Rajmata Helena and Tunisha was seen as Princess Ahenkara. The show aired from 2015 till 2016.

Mourning her demise, Suzanne said, "I'm gutted. She was so young. I can understand the pain of her mother as I felt motherly and loving towards her. She was very dedicated to acting, a lot of talent that would have taken her far ahead. I remember her coming on set with so much energy lighting up the place. And her mom was always on set with her taking care as she was quite young at that time. Our heart goes out, Akhil (My husband who joins me on set to support me with Hindi) and mine, to her mom. Tunisha was an Angel that left too early… her birthday is coming up in January and I had already downloaded the pic to wish her with on Instagram. Now instead of wishing her we are left with only a goodbye. It’s a very sad moment."

She continued, "After our show ended we would be in touch while sharing greetings on special occasions and checking up on each other’s whereabouts. We both followed each other on Instagram and used to feel happy about each other's work."

As the news is doing the rounds that her breakup is the reason behind her suicide, Suzanne shared further on how most of actors falls in love on sets. “Falling in love is something you can't prevent. Actors tend to get attached as we spend a tremendous amount of time with each other. And if you are young you don't understand yet how to separate the character love and the personal love. Actors work with their own feelings and they tend to be sensitive… that makes an actor a good actor. But being able to understand the difference between acting and life, a support system would be ideal for young actors. A young person felt so lost that she took this drastic irreversible step and people think it's OK to judge and throw garbage. I feel like crying again and again remembering her. I remember her rushing into my makeup room and we would click selfies.”

Tunisha died by suicide on the sets of her show Alibaba on December 24 and today evening (December 27) her funeral will be held.
