Kushal Tandon was finalised to play the male lead in Ekta Kapoor’s Bekaaboo but the deal fell through. While it could not materialise back then, the makers have now finalised Kushal to play the hero in her next show. It will be a male-oriented show.
Informs a source associated with the show, “It’s a love story and Kushal is perfect for the part. The character will have a lot of shades. The production house is currently looking out for the female protagonist and the rest of the casting is underway, too. The show is expected to go on floors by the mid of next month.”
Despite repeated attempts, we couldn’t reach Kushal for comment.
The daily soap will mark the actor’s return to the small screen six years after his last show, Beyhadh, ended in 2017. Soon after Beyhadh wound up, the actor dabbled in the OTT domain in a bid to explore versatile characters. He has been part of shows like Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, Nach Baliye 5, Bigg Boss 7 and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 5. In an exclusive with us last month, while talking about his decision of shifting his focus to the web, Kushal had said, “The reason I shifted to the OTT platform was that I got a chance to work in a different kind of story, moreover web series are quite quick, work-wise.” He added that he wasn't averse to returning to television but only if he was offered an exciting project.
