Exclusive! I still get Eidi from my elders on Eid, says Katha Ankahee actor Adnan Khan

Even though Adnan Khan is not going to be with his complete family on Eid, the Ishq Subhan Allah fame actor says he is going to celebrate the festival. Currently seen on the show Katha Ankahee as Viaan Raghuwanshi, Adnan walked down memory lane on how he used to celebrate Eid in a lavish manner in his homeland Dubai. "Eid for me is a very good memory... ek bahot hi pyaari yadaasht hai iss festival se meri!" shares Adnan, adding, "I am from Dubai so Eid there is massive. We were about 30-40 cousins with their children and all the uncles and aunties. It was a day when everyone got together and forget their worries. Everyone in my family is in a cedlebratory mood that day. But ever since I moved to India with my mother, the festival has not been the same. My elder brother and all the extended family are still there though I have a few uncles and aunts in Mumbai too. So saara celebration abhi bhi udhar hi hota hai."

But Adnan is now celebrating Eid with hs family in Mumbai. "But for the past two years, I have been celebrating it with my family here too. It has started to become fun again for me again. Eid has started to mean the same again for me. A couple of Eids went by where I didn't celebrate it and abhi last year se woh ek kami mehsoos hui mujhe. Then I was like even if I do not have 40 cousins, I will still bring happiness to my home on Eid with my family members. I understand the real value of celebrating festivals with family now," he shares.

So does he have friends visiting him on Eid? "No. It is just family; this is one day that I dedicate completely to my family. My friends too know that on Eid I am with my family. Also, I do not put too much pressure on my mom on Eid to cook," he says. But yes, one tradition of the festival that Adnan is still fond of is getting Eidi from the elders in the family. "I still get Eidi from my elders on Eid and it is a very special moment for me to get that. The amount doesn't matter to me but just the thought behind it is very precious," he says.
