Excitement builds for Active Kids Adventure Park reopening following extensive redevelopment work

The wait is almost over for families as a popular local adventure play experience is set to reopen after an extensive redevelopment of its indoor spaces.

Active Kids Adventure Park near Stanley has been closed since the end of October as work has been completed to create an all-year-round adventure play experience for families in Perthshire and across Scotland.

With its focal point a treehouse-themed indoor adventure playground, the new facility - opening officially next Friday - has a brand-new cafe with a south facing outdoor terrace and a new toy shop for visitors to explore.

The indoor space has created over 12 jobs at Active Kids. As well as offering employment opportunities locally, a number of Perthshire companies were used to carry out the work including Blairgowrie-based construction company, Algo.

Situated on farmland, Active Kids is well known for its sprawling outdoor play areas and its new indoor adventure playground has been inspired by its rural surroundings.

With its treehouse theme, the indoor play space has brought the ‘outdoors indoors’ celebrating the natural world.

The new play space has been built with child development in mind, helping children to build resilience, problem solve and, most importantly, have a lot of fun.

On Thursday, a group of children from Stanley Nursery have been invited to be among the first to experience the new indoor adventure playground ahead of opening to the public officially on Friday, March 17.

The children will be joined by all the people involved in the project from local businesses to local charity, Perth Autism Support, who Active Kids have recently partnered with to support the adventure park’s commitment to providing a safe and fun environment for all children.

With anticipation building in recent weeks, excitement is at fever-pitch from families looking for meaningful, fun days out with their children with many avidly following the project’s progress on Active Kids’ social media channels.

The Active Kids’ team are preparing for lots of visitors and can’t wait for children to experience the new indoor play spaces.

Rowland Thomson, Business Manager at Active Kids Adventure Park said: “As one of the most popular outdoor adventure parks in the area, we could see there was a need to provide an all-year-round play facility for families to visit.

“By re-developing our indoor spaces, introducing a much larger cafe, toy shop and a beautiful treehouse-themed indoor playground, we are sure both children and adults are going to have an amazing experience here at Active Kids.”

With demand expected to be high, Rowland recommends booking online where possible.

He added: “There has been a great deal of interest in our new indoor play spaces, so we are expecting a lot of visitors, particularly in the next few weeks.

“I’d recommend booking online to avoid disappointment. Our outdoor park is open too, so lots of people will be able to enjoy our outdoor park as well as our indoor play space, especially as the weather begins to improve.”

Tickets can be booked on Active Kids’ website, set to launch on Wednesday, March 15.
