Sunderland supporters are delighted to hear Jack Clarke is set to return to the Stadium of Light. The Tottenham Hotspur winger played a huge part in helping the Black Cats win promotion back to the Championship and Chronicle Live understands the two clubs have agreed a deal to see Clarke return to Wearside.
Clarke's proposed arrival would be the second signing of the summer after Daniel Ballard arrive from Arsenal, penning a long-term deal with the club. Alex Neil knows that Sunderland are in need of a number of additions across the board, but have been buoyed by Lynden Gooch, Patrick Roberts and Bailey Wright agreeing new terms.
The Wearsiders are currently in Portugal for a warm weather training camp as they prepare to take on Europa League finalists Rangers and Europa Conference League winners AS Roma. Jose Mourinho's side will prove stern opposition and one that Neil will no doubt be relishing.

Chronicle Live understands Clarke is travelling out to Portugal to link up with the squad for the remainder of the camp. Sunderland supporters are delighted with the news and are pleased to see the board backing Neil in the transfer market.
