Example felt like 'the mayor of Glasgow' at one of the city's favourite food joints ahead of his TRNSMT gig.
The performer hailed Scotland's biggest city as having 'the best fans in the world' before taking to the main stage at Glasgow Green on Saturday afternoon. The singer and rapper landed in Glasgow on Friday evening and took to social media to praise its revellers for being cream of the crop.
Example, whose real name is Elliot John Gleave, shared a short clip taken while he and his friend, Sam, walked through Glasgow International Airport arrivals. The 40-year-old asked, 'Sam where are the best crowds in the world?' to which Sam replied, 'Glasgow'.

Example asked, 'And where are we?' to which Sam responded in a Glaswegian accent, 'Glasgow'. The music superstar was then spotted in one of the city centre's most popular laid-back food joints, Slouch.
A photo was shared by both Example and Slouch chiefs of the singer posing with two punters and a pint of Tennent's lager. Example quipped that he smiled for a number of selfies during his trip to the much-loved bar where he 'felt like the mayor of Glasgow'.
He wrote: "Had 32 selfies in an hour I feel like the mayor of Glasgow."
Slouch chiefs claim the performer managed to scoff 12 of their renowned chicken wings in two minutes.
A caption from Slouch read: "A perfect combination . . . and 12 Slouch wings in two minutes. Impressive."
It comes after tens of thousands of revellers descended on Glasgow Green for TRNSMT day one. Ella Henderson, Sam Fender, Nile Rodgers and Chic plus Tom Grennan were among those who warmed up the crowd for headliner, Paolo Nutini.
Saturday's offering saw Example warm up the crowd with Foals and The Snuts also on the bill ahead of The Strokes. Then on Sunday, Mimi Webb, Sigala, DMAs, Sigrid and Wolf Alice will take to the stage before home-grown talent, Lewis Capaldi, who'll close TRNSMT 2022.
