The BBC have said: "There will be a mix of sleet and snow but snow will fall down to lower levels at times on Wednesday. Breezy and colder. Overnight into Thursday there may be some more persistent spells of snow in places.

"Southern and eastern areas will be drier and brighter. Friday will be cloudy in the north with some rain or snow in places."

The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for parts of Scotland on Saturday, December 3. The forecasters have said: "Showers will fall as snow to low levels on Wednesday.

"Accumulations of 2-5 cm are possible at lower levels, with 5-10 cm above 200 metres, with some drifting and blizzard conditions in the strong northerly winds."
